Student Achievement Award Engineers Geoscientists Manitoba is seeking
nominations for the 2024 Student Achievement Award, which is intended to
recognize an undergraduate engineering or geoscience student or group of
students who have shown excellence in, and/or major contributions to, the
concept/design of a groundbreaking engineering or geoscience project/thesis.

2024 Making Links Engineering Classic -
June 20, 2024
Save the date! This year's annual Making Links Engineering Classic will take place on Thursday,
June 20, at Quarry Oaks in Steinbach and will feature a shotgun start, optional golf clinic
with the resident CPGA Professional, and the return of the 19th Hole Reception with great food

Registration
Committee The Registration Committee is a committee of Council,
responsible for conducting the final review of applicants and interns moving
forward towards final registration. The committee is currently looking for
professional engineers, specifically in the areas of
civil, structural,
geotechnical, mechanical, or electrical engineering to participate in
monthly meetings to discuss assigned files, issues, and policy development.

Appeal
Committee The Appeal Committee fulfills one of the core functions of
Engineers Geoscientists Manitoba, as mandated by the Act and by-laws. Appeal
Committee members determine, as a panel, whether to uphold, modify, or overturn
decisions made by the Registration Committee, Registrar, or Investigation
Committee, by hearing appeals made by applicants regarding registration
decisions, and complainants regarding decisions made by the Investigation
Committee. The committee is looking for additional professional members (P.Eng.
and P.Geo.) who have ten or more years of professional practice experience,
have knowledge of the Act and by-laws, and some knowledge of the judicial

Seeking a P.Geo. Member Representative for the Canadian Geoscience Standards Council
The Association is currently seeking a registered Professional Geoscientist (P.Geo.) member to serve
as a representative on Geoscientists Canada's Canadian Geoscience Standards Council (CGSC).
CGSC provides a forum for P.Geo.'s, appointed by regulator members, to have regular discussions
on matters concerning admission to the profession, and to advise Geoscientists Canada and the
professional geoscience practice regulators on admission requirements and standards for the
profession. It is a committee of Geoscientists Canada, which is accountable to and reports to the
Board of Directors. The term of office is two years, renewable twice to a maximum of six years,
with meetings being held in a hybrid - in person or Zoom format, at least twice per year, or more
as needed. If you are interested in this important role for the geoscience profession, please submit a
