Join us at Kildonan Place to mark the start of 2025
Provincial Engineering and Geoscience Week (PEGW) with fun activities to engage
the next generation of engineers and geoscientists! Children's activities
running on Sunday afternoon provide kids of all ages a chance to have some fun.
From building structures out of gumdrops to digging for cool rocks and building
a working circuit, there's something for everyone! For more information, please

Certificate of Authorization (CofA) Renewals
Certificate of
Authorizations are currently renewing for the period of
Thursday, May 1,
2025, to
Thursday, April 30, 2026. Renewal notices have been mailed
out to the listed authorized designates. All companies who hold a Certificate of
Authorization must submit their renewal payment by April 30, 2025. If the
company is no longer providing engineering and/or geoscience services within the
province of Manitoba, please complete and return the
cancellation
form. Renewal payments can be made
online
by credit card, submitting a cheque by mail, or by contacting the Association
office by phone at (204) 474-2736.
PEGW Volunteers -
Multiple Volunteers Needed
Provincial Engineering and Geoscience Week (PEGW) is held to promote engineering and geoscience as career choices and celebrate engineering and geoscience within our province.
We are in need of a few more volunteers for the
Children's Activities
on
Sunday, March 23, 2025, and for the
Spaghetti Bridge Competition
on
Monday, March 24, 2025,
both taking place at Kildonan Place Mall.

Registration Committee -
Committee Member
The Registration Committee is a committee of Council, responsible for conducting the final review of applicants and interns moving forward towards final registration.
The committee is currently looking for a professional engineer, specifically in the area of
electrical engineering
to participate in monthly meetings to discuss assigned files, issues, and policy development.
Application deadline for this opportunity is
Friday, March 28, 2025.

Layperson Member
The Registration Committee is a committee of Council, responsible for conducting the final review of applicants and interns
moving forward towards final registration. The committee is currently looking for a layperson member to join the committee
for a two-year term, who has good analytical and critical thinking skills, can work effectively as a team towards consensus,
understands the Association's mandate to serve and protect public interest. This position is for members of the public,
applicants
cannot not be registered
with Engineers Geoscientists Manitoba.

Member Engagement Session: Future By-law Changes -
TODAY: Thursday, March 13, 2025
Council invites all members to participate in an open online engagement session
discussing potential by-law changes for 2025.
This engagement session will go over the By-law Change Process,
and potential changes will be presented for discussion and feedback.

Provincial Engineering and Geoscience Week (PEGW): Spaghetti Bridge Competition -

Our annual
Spaghetti Bridge Competition, in support of Harvest Manitoba, returns with
in-person and virtual options for pre-registered school groups. K-Grade 12
students compete to build the strongest bridge using just pasta and white or
wood glue, then watch as we test it to destruction! For more information and how

RRC Polytech: Manitoba Building Bylaws -

This online course will examine the legal requirements of the building permitting process as
well as the Building Official's role within it. The course will assist Building Officials in
recognizing the applicability of laws at various levels (federal, provincial, and municipal)
in the building process as well as providing understanding regarding when their role in the
legal process begins. Finally, the course will conclude with information about what would be
required of a Building Official should they be called to court.
