EngGeoMB Annual General Meeting
Last chance to register! In accordance with By-law 13.4(a), the Council of Engineers Geoscientists Manitoba invites all professional members and interns to join us for the 2021 Annual General Meeting (AGM) next week on Thursday, October 14, 2021. The AGM will be held online and registration is required to attend. Election and by-law voting results will also be announced at this time. University of Manitoba Engineering Competition (UMEC) - October 23 and 24, 2021
The University of Manitoba Engineering Competition (UMEC) will be taking place virtually this year and is in need of judges to help evaluate competitions and presentations. Judging is scheduled from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. for both days. If you are interested in volunteering or have questions, please contact the University of Manitoba Engineering Society Vice Stick External, Duncan Lamont at vse@umes.mb.ca. It is required for judges to be either professional engineers or engineers in training.

The Darwin Bridges - World's First Bridges Built of Concrete and Recycled Glass Powder - October 20, 2021
Presented by the Manitoba Chapter of the American Concrete Institute (ACI), this webinar will discuss the theory and application of recycled ground glass powder (GGP) in concrete. This two-part presentation will cover an overview of the use of GGP in concrete and the application of this technology in the recently completed Darwin Bridge project. Design, Construction, and Performance Monitoring of Stone Column Reinforced Embankments - October 29, 2021
Join the Westman Chapter for a professional development luncheon featuring Kent Bannister from Trek Geotechnical. The presentation will focus on design, construction, and performance monitoring of stone column reinforced embankments with a case study of the Saskatoon Interchange project, which consisted of design-build construction of two grade-separated traffic intersections.
