Ingenium, the Association's annual professional
development event, will once again be hosted virtually the last week of
October 2022. Abstracts for presentations on any topic related to engineering
and geoscience and the professionals who practise in those fields are
welcome. For more information, please see the
news
story.
Virtual events have been organized for youth and
practitioners to celebrate National Engineering and Geoscience Month! Help
inspire the next generation of engineers and geoscientists by highlighting the
role they play in society and the diversity of voices, experiences, and
interests that make up the professions. Visit our
news
story to learn more about the events offered in March and share with
friends, family, and teachers in your community.
The Nominating Committee is looking for four new members:
three professional members, one of which needs to be a professional
geoscientist, and one intern (engineering or geoscience) who have a
well-connected network with other professional members, an understanding of
governance, succession planning, board/Council functions, as well as experience
in the field of Human Resources. The Nominating Committee assists Council in
identifying election candidates for councillors for the upcoming election,
replacing any vacancies on Council who meet the criteria for councillors as
described in the Governance Policy, in a manner consistent with the Act and
by-laws, and takes into consideration the broadest possible diversity of the
membership. Please see the
call for volunteers for more information.
The Discipline Committee fulfills one of the core
functions of Engineers Geoscientists Manitoba, as mandated by the Act and
by-laws. Discipline Committee members determine, as a panel, whether a
practitioner is guilty of professional misconduct or unskilled practice, and
the appropriate penalties, if any are required. We are currently looking for a
professional member (P.Eng. or P.Geo.) who has 10+ years of professional
practice, knowledge of the Act and by-laws, some knowledge of the judicial
process, and previous experience on EngGeoMB committees. Please see the full
call for volunteers for details.
Engineers Geoscientists Manitoba invites members to join
this exclusive three-hour training session on dealing with micro-aggression and
conflict in the workplace, presented by certified mediators Delia Joseph and
Karen Ridd. This training is limited to 35 participants and the Association is
providing this training at a subsidized cost of $75 (regular $114/person). To
register online, please see the

Engineers Geoscientists Manitoba has launched support

with the report submission requirements to progress toward licensure.
Registration is open for the March sessions, with more sessions planned
every second Thursday throughout the year. Please see the
