A person cannot call themselves an engineer unless they are a member of EngGeoMB?
The Engineering & Geoscientific Professions Act is the law in Manitoba restricting
the use of the words engineer, engineering, geoscientist and geoscience.
See Section 58 of
the Act.
No matter that a person has graduated from an engineering school or university,
they cannot use the title engineer on a LinkedIn profile, web page, business
card or in any form, unless first registering with Engineers Geoscientists Manitoba.
This is the law in every province of Canada.
RRC Polytech: Introduction to the MB Building and Fire Codes (Div A and C) -
September 1 - September 23, 2022
This online course offered by Red River College Polytech is designed for individuals who
currently use the Manitoba Building Codes (MBC) in their day to day work, and
for those individuals who are going to be using the codes for the first time.
This course is delivered online, and you will work at your own pace under
the guidance of an instructor. The course contains approximately 16 hours of course work.

2022 Livable Cities Forum (LCF) -
October 3 - October 5, 2022
After an online Livable Cities Forum (LCF) in 2020, and a hiatus in 2021,
Local Governments for Sustainability (ICLEI) is looking to convene leaders
and practitioners from across Canada around the topics of community
resilience and emission reduction with a focus on equity and climate action this year.
The program will explore social resilience, infrastructure, and net-zero
communities through the lens of equity, inclusion, and diversity.
