2022 EngGeoMB Awards Ceremony
Join us for the annual highlight of the Association's social calendar, the Engineers Geoscientists Manitoba Awards Ceremony, which is back in-person for 2022! This luncheon event brings together members and representatives from government and industry to celebrate the successes of our 2022 award winners. Fine cuisine and entertainment from the Big City All Star Band and MC Anders Boulanger set the stage for a first-class event honouring member achievements and corporate contributions to the professions. Individual tickets are $65 plus GST and tables of 8 are $455 plus GST. Buy your tickets now! Ticket purchasing deadline is Friday, October 7.

North American Commercial and Industrial Insulation Standards Manual Now Available in Canada
In late 2021, TIAC finalized an agreement with the Midwest Insulation Contractors Association (MICA) to endorse the 9th edition of that organization's manual - renamed the North American Commercial and Industrial Insulation Standards (NACIIS) manual. The NACIIS manual contains updated information related to the design, specification, and installation of thermal insulation on piping, fittings, ductwork, equipment, and vessels found within commercial heating/ventilating/ cooling and plumbing systems. Industrial power and process systems information on firestopping systems is also included, and refrigeration and cryogenic systems have been added. Read the full news story for more information.

Keystone Professional Committee - Multiple Positions
The Keystone Professional Committee is responsible for the communication and release of information via the quarterly publication of The Keystone Professional. The committee is seeking members with a keen interest in pitching story ideas and writing articles about trends regarding innovation, current issues, or field-specific topics to join the group. Interested members who are passionate about communicating with others, who enjoy writing, and are detail-oriented are encouraged to submit their resume and interest to Diana Vander Aa, Volunteer Coordinator, at Volunteer@EngGeoMB.ca.

Dealing with Micro-aggression and Conflict in the Workplace - October 1, 2022
Engineers Geoscientists Manitoba invites members to join this exclusive three-hour training session on dealing with micro-aggression and conflict in the workplace, presented by certified mediators Delia Joseph and Karen Ridd. This virtual session will take place on Zoom. This training isn't just about black and white issues: it's about acts (intentional and, more often than not, unintentional) that limit the ability of people from any marginalized group to flourish. Go Eng Girl - October 15, 2022
Go Eng Girl is a free annual opportunity for youth in grades 7-9 to dip their toes into engineering. Participants will work together in a team to solve in a hands-on surprise via an engineering design challenge! Price Faculty of Engineering's female students serve as mentors to the teams participating in the design challenge. Go Eng Girl would like to invite parents to register their children for the event, and welcomes participants to come with friends. The program provides participants with morning refreshments and a lunch. Registration is now open. Climate Change and Infrastructure Risk Assessment - the PIEVC Protocol - September 26 - November 6, 2022
The PIEVC Protocol is a practical tool that supports the assessment of climate related extreme weather and what effects that might have on infrastructure. Climate Change and Infrastructure Risk Assessment - the PIEVC Protocol is a professional development course that will be of interest to engineers, planners, and other infrastructure professionals at any stage of the infrastructure lifecycle, from design and commissioning through operation and asset management. Learners will develop an understanding of risk management practices and the risks and impacts posed to public infrastructure by climate change.
