Permit Dispute Resolution Regulation & Performance Standards Regulation
The Building Permitting Improvement Act received Royal Assent on May 20, 2021. In order to implement the changes in Schedules A and B of the Act, the Department of Labour and Immigration is proposing the creation of two new regulations: The Permit Dispute Resolution Regulation, under The Permit Dispute Resolution Act, and The Performance Standards Regulation, under The Buildings and Mobile Homes Act. Call for Abstracts - 2023 Ingenium Professional Development Seminars
Engineers Geoscientists Manitoba will host its annual conference, Ingenium, in a virtual format in October 2023. Ingenium is a premier professional development opportunity for the engineering and geoscience community in Manitoba, with participants representing a cross-section of the 9,200 practitioners who work in the province's private and public sectors. The Association welcomes abstracts for presentations on any topic related to engineering and geoscience and the professionals which practise in those fields, for consideration for inclusion in Ingenium's Professional Development Seminars. PEGW Volunteers - Multiple Volunteers Needed
Provincial Engineering and Geoscience Week (PEGW) is held to promote engineering and geoscience as career choices, celebrate engineering and geoscience within our province. This year in-person PEGW events return and will take place Sunday March 19, 2023, to Thursday March 23, 2023, with events such as Children's Activities and the Spaghetti Bridge Competition. Introduction to Climate Change Through Codes, Standards, and Regulations - March 2 or 3, 2023
Codes, standards, and regulations are changing in response to and in anticipation of climate change. Organizations across the world are updating existing standards or writing new ones to help engineers, construction workers, healthcare workers, and many others to prepare society for extreme weather and changing climate conditions. The intention and purpose of this course is to have all participants understand the role that is played by Codes, Standards, and Regulations regarding climate change adaptation and mitigation for infrastructure, water and wastewater, and building construction. Westman Chapter In-Person Seminar - March 10, 2023
The EngGeoMB Westman Chapter is hosting a seminar on March 10, 2023, at the Victoria Inn Hotel & Convention Centre in Brandon, Manitoba. The cost to attend is $20 and lunch will be included. The seminar will include a presentation on Ethics, Guidelines, and Practice Notes by Mike Gregoire, P.Eng., Director of Professional Standards and Acting CEO and Registrar, and on Competency-Based Assessment by Anjanette Zielinski, Director of Admissions. Provincial Engineering and Geoscience Week (PEGW) - Children's Activities - March 19, 2023
Join us at Kildonan Place to mark the 2023 Provincial Engineering & Geoscience Week (PEGW) with fun activities to engage the next generation of engineers and geoscientists! Children's activities running on Sunday afternoon provide kids of all ages a chance to have some fun; from building structures out of gumdrops, to bridging a raging river using straws, and even digging for cool rocks and building a working circuit, there's something for everyone.
