Provincial Financial Support for Internationally Educated
Professionals The Government of Manitoba launched the
Manitoba
Careers for Internationally Educated Professionals Program to support
internationally educated professionals towards their goal of working in their
professional field in Manitoba. The program provides non-repayable financial
assistance to help internationally educated professionals with assessment and
training costs while pursuing registration. To be eligible, applicants must have
started the application process with Engineers Geoscientists Manitoba. For more

The
Engineer-in-Residence Program The Engineer-in-Residence program (EIR)
is an engineering outreach program which pairs professional engineers and
interns with local classrooms for regular visits throughout the school year.
There are four schools on the Manitoba waitlist who are still looking for an
Engineer-in-Residence volunteer to join them for the upcoming school year:
- Ecole Seven Oaks Middle School (800 Salter Street, Winnipeg) **French
speaking required**
- James Nisbet Community School (70 Doubleday Drive, Winnipeg)
- West St. Paul School (3740 Main Street, West St. Paul)
- Dr. F.W.L. Hamilton School (3225 Henderson Hwy, East St. Paul)

Manitoba to come and observe the September Council meeting. To register, please

Social Hour -
September 28, 2023 The Sports and Social Committee
is pleased to announce the new EngGeoMB Social Hour, a quarterly in-person event
for registrants of the Association to meet one another in a casual setting. This
first event in September will feature drinks and snacks at the Association
office in Winnipeg, and is open to all registrants of Engineers Geoscientists
Manitoba. Tickets are complimentary but spaces are limited, so register via our

Practices and Design in Steel Industry -
September 12, 2023
The India Members Chapter invites you to attend their in-person technical event,
where Sadegh Mirzaeian Taftion, P.Eng., will be presenting.
This event is an opportunity to learn more about main codes, standards, and
guidelines that govern the engineering practice and design in the steel
industry. This event is being offered in-person at the Engineers Geoscientists
Manitoba Office at 870 Pembina Highway, where food will be provided, and special
