The National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women - December 6, 2023
On December 6, 1989, 14 women were killed by a gunman at Ecole Polytechnique in Montreal.
On this day, the engineering community gathers to honour those 14 women who lost their lives due
to misogyny and hate, reflect on where we are today, and what we want our future to look like.
On December 6, 2023, the Price Faculty of Engineering invites community members
to their annual remembrance event in the EITC Atrium.

Mentorship
Program: Registration Closes December 8, 2023 The Mentorship Program is
structured and meant to unite practitioners in engineering and geoscience
professions, and to build trusting relationships that brings both
less-experienced and more-experienced members in Engineers Geoscientists
Manitoba together to offer guidance, support, and encouragement.
2024
Registration is now open to students (New for 2024), interns (EIT/GIT),
professional engineers, professional geoscientists, specified scope of practice
licensees, and senior members registered in good standing with Engineers

Curling Funspiel Registration Now Open! Join Association staff,
members, and corporate partners on
January 10, 2024, for an afternoon of fun
on the ice at the St. Vital Curling Club! After a filling lunch, your team
will take to the ice to fight for top spot in this curling funspiel, where
each team will play at least four two-end games. To register your team and/or

Engineers Canada: Participate in the Futures of Engineering Accreditation Survey
The Futures of Engineering Accreditation (FEA) project wants to hear from people
who have enrolled in engineering education or have direct experience with the
engineering licensure process. They are conducting a survey to gather insights
from engineering students, graduates, applicants for licensure, and
professionals about their experiences related to accreditation, engineering
competencies, and licensure. For more information and to participate in the

By-law Review Committee
The By-law Review Committee develops and maintains the by-laws of the Association in accordance with By-law Part XVI,
which includes engaging with stakeholders during the development process. The By-law Review Committee is
looking for a professional member (P.Eng. or P.Geo.) to join the committee for a three-year term, with preference
given to members with demonstrated governance experience. For more information, please see the full

Finance Committee
The Finance Committee provides financial oversight for the Association on budgeting, financial planning,
financial reporting, and the creation and monitoring of internal controls and financial policies.
The Finance Committee is looking for a professional member (P.Eng. or P.Geo.) who has demonstrated
experience with fiscal policies and accounting systems to join the committee for a two-year term,
with preference given to members with an accounting designation.

Governance Committee
The Governance Committee develops and maintains Council policies including committee terms of
reference and provides recommendations on Council size and competencies/capabilities needed
(elected and appointed Councillors), including diversity; prescreening of candidates;
pre-election orientation. The Governance Committee is looking for a professional member
(P.Eng. or P.Geo.) to join the committee for a three-year term, with preference given to members with demonstrated governance experience.

Human Resources Committee
The Human Resources Committee receives and reviews reports from the CEO regarding the selection,
performance management, and succession planning of senior executives, and assesses human resources
related risks and provides recommendations to Council. The Human Resources Committee is looking for
a professional member (P.Eng. or P.Geo.) to join the committee for a three-year term,
with preference given to members with demonstrated Human Resources experience.

Nominating Committee
The Nominating Committee is a committee of Council, which assists in identifying election candidates who meet the
criteria for new councillors as described in the Governance Policy for Councillor Roles and Job Description.
The Nominating Committee is looking for three professional members, of which one needs to be a professional geoscientist,
additionally the committee is looking for one Intern (engineering or geoscience) to join the committee for a one-year term.

to the Point! - Technical Writing for Technical Professionals (In-Person
Training) -
December 7, 2023 In Get to the Point! A Technical
Writing Course for Technical Professionals you will learn techniques that apply
to writing technical letters, reports, emails, proposals and recommendations.
