2024 Spaghetti Bridge Competition: A PEGW Pasta Pulverization Success!
EngGeoMB experienced amazing numbers during Provincial Engineering and Geoscience Week: Over 1,000 enthusiastic students joined the Association from all over Manitoba to design, build, and smash bridges during the annual 2024 Spaghetti Bridge Competition for a total of weight held at 14,984.2 kg, and this year, the Association is proud to announce a donation of $29,968.40 to Harvest Manitoba. Certificate of Authorization Renewals
Certificate of Authorizations are currently renewing for the period of May 1, 2024, to April 30, 2025. Renewal notices have been mailed out to the listed authorized designates. All companies who hold a Certificate of Authorization must submit their renewal payment by April 30, 2024. If the company is no longer providing engineering and/or geoscience services within the province of Manitoba, please complete and return the cancellation form. Renewal payments can be made online by credit card or submitting a cheque by mail.

Manitoba Government Appoints New Board for Efficiency Manitoba
The Manitoba government has appointed a new board of directors for Efficiency Manitoba and issued a new mandate letter to the Crown Corporation, Environment and Climate Change Minister Tracy Schmidt, minister responsible for Efficiency Manitoba, announced recently. Volunteer Opportunities
Registration Committee
The Registration Committee is a committee of Council, responsible for conducting the final review of applicants and interns moving forward towards final registration. The committee is currently looking for professional engineers, specifically in the areas of civil, structural, geotechnical, mechanical, or electrical engineering to participate in monthly meetings to discuss assigned files, issues, and policy development. Appeal Committee
The Appeal Committee fulfills one of the core functions of Engineers Geoscientists Manitoba, as mandated by the Act and by-laws. Appeal Committee members determine, as a panel, whether to uphold, modify, or overturn decisions made by the Registration Committee, Registrar, or Investigation Committee, by hearing appeals made by applicants regarding registration decisions, and complainants regarding decisions made by the Investigation Committee. The committee is looking for additional professional members (P.Eng. and P.Geo.) who have ten or more years of professional practice experience, have knowledge of the Act and by-laws, and some knowledge of the judicial process to join the committee.
