2024 EngGeoMB Annual General Meeting and Annual Awards Ceremony
On Thursday, October 24, 2024, Engineers Geoscientists Manitoba welcomed David Amorim, P.Eng., as the new Association President for 2024-2025. FEC designations were additionally given to eight recipients of the honour, and on the same day, eight awards were presented to outstanding individuals and companies at the Annual Awards Ceremony held at the Fort Garry Hotel. Updated and New CBA Guides Available
Engineers Geoscientists Manitoba has adopted updated guides for competency-based assessment (CBA) to align with the CBA reporting system used by the Association and other Canadian regulators. In addition, two new guides - Canadian Environment Experience Competencies for Engineering and Canadian Work-Environment Experience Competencies for Geoscience are now available. Applicants, interns, validators, and assessors are encouraged to review the updated and new guides.

Probe Research Holding Focus Groups to Seek Members' Ideas for Changes to The Engineering and Geoscientific Professions Act
Engineers Geoscientists Manitoba's Council has assigned the Government Relations Department the task of a major rewrite to the legislation that governs our Association. To initiate member engagement on the changes needed to the Act, we are conducting focus groups through a third party, Probe Research. Please read the news story for additional information.

Government Relations Advisory Committee (GRAC) - Multiple Positions
GRAC assists and advises the Director of Government Relations on provincial government and rural and urban municipality community relations, lobbying activities, and on operational planning for the Department. The primary focus of GRAC for the next several years will be to assist the Government Relations Department in a major rewrite of the Association's legislation, The Engineering and Geoscientific Professions Act. The committee is looking for members; professional geoscientists (P.Geo.), engineers (P.Eng.) or interns in good standing with the Association, from various disciplines, who are committed to developing a good relationship with government while supporting the philosophy, strategy, and actions of the Association. Membership of this committee is comprised of individuals who are willing and able to act as non-partisan individuals when representing the Association as part of this Committee. The Manitoba Chapter of the Canadian Society of Senior Engineers (CSSE) invites you to attend their next session.
