National Volunteer Appreciation Week 2025 -
Sunday, April 27 - Saturday, May 3, 2025
Like waves, volunteering is a dynamic force, constantly evolving and creating impact.
Every volunteer effort, whether large or small, contributes to a wave of positive
change in our communities. During this week of National Volunteer Appreciation,
Engineers Geoscientists Manitoba would like to emphasize the significance of each
volunteer and their contributions to the Association and the citizens of Manitoba.

Call for 2025 Council Applications Deadline Approaching -
Friday, May 9, 2025
The Nominating Committee is accepting nominations for individuals interested
in serving on Council. This is an opportunity to play an active role in guiding
the direction of Engineers Geoscientists Manitoba and contributing to its governance.
Those who are interested are asked to complete the
Council Application Form
and submit it, along with their curriculum vitae (CV) to the attention of the
Nominating Committee c/o the Association at
Info@EngGeoMB.ca.
Application forms and CVs can also be mailed or dropped off at the
Engineers Geoscientists Manitoba office (870 Pembina Hwy).
Deadline is 4:30 p.m., Friday, May 9, 2025.

Call for Abstracts: 2025 Ingenium Professional Development Seminars
Engineers Geoscientists Manitoba will host its annual conference, Ingenium, in
a virtual format in November 2025. The
Association welcomes abstracts for presentations on any topic related to
engineering and geoscience and the professionals which practise in those fields,
for consideration for inclusion in the Ingenium Professional Development

Have You Participated in the 2024 Salary Survey?
The 2024 Salary Survey is open for eligible
practitioners to complete via a link in their online profile. Completing the
survey provides practitioners, employers, and the public with information
regarding engineers' and geoscientists' salaries and benefits in the Province of
Manitoba. This information assists Association practitioners in understanding
their compensation with respect to the local marketplace and enables comparisons
with data from other practitioners. For access to the survey, please login to
your
online profile.
Professional Practice Examination Screening Group (PPESG) -
Group Member
The National Professional Practice Examination (NPPE) Nominating Regulator Group
for the region is seeking a Manitoba representative who is a professional member
(P.Eng. or P.Geo.) to join the Professional Practice Examination Screening Group
to assist in the development of appropriate questions for the NPPE.
Applicants need to be in good standing with EngGeoMB, be a practicing professional
with a minimum of five years of industry experience post-licensure,
have a good understanding of public interest and self-regulation, and have a good
understanding of professionalism and professional ethics.

An Overview of Competency-Based Assessment (CBA) -

The Admissions Department is offering an overview of competency-based assessment (CBA) -
the online system used to evaluate engineering and geoscience work experience and competencies
to determine readiness for professional registration and licensure.
This online session will be of interest to current interns as well as prospective applicants,
new graduates, validators, assessors, and anyone interested in learning about CBA.

Understanding Foundational Teachings to Work Towards Two-Eyed Seeing -
Tuesday, June 3, 2025
We will discuss Indigenous Worldviews and ways, touching upon foundational teachings such as
the Seven Sacred Teachings and the Medicine Wheel. We strive to give an appreciation to how
spirituality is intertwined into every aspect of Indigenous Peoples behaviour and Community function.
We will discuss how to properly engage Elders and Knowledge Keepers. For more
