2025 Volunteer Appreciation Night - Wednesday, May 28, 2025
Join us in celebrating our volunteers at the upcoming EngGeoMB Volunteer Appreciation Night at The Assiniboine Park Zoo's, Gateway to the Arctic! Enjoy an evening mingling in the Sea Ice Passage under swimming polar bears and seals or attend a presentation in the Aurora Borealis Theatre to see the Northern Lights. Tickets are now available for all practitioners to buy online for the subsidized price of $20 plus GST each. UM and RRC Polytech Establish New Partnership for Students Pursuing Engineering
A new partnership between the province's largest post-secondary institutions is creating a made-in-Manitoba pathway to earning an engineering degree. Students graduating from Red River College Polytechnic's (RRC Polytech) Engineering Technology programs are now eligible for direct entry into a department program in the Price Faculty of Engineering at the University of Manitoba (UM), creating career options and opportunities for new graduates or industry professionals looking to level up. Call for Abstracts: 2025 Ingenium Professional Development Seminars
Engineers Geoscientists Manitoba will host its annual conference, Ingenium, in a virtual format in November 2025. The Association welcomes abstracts for presentations on any topic related to engineering and geoscience and the professionals which practise in those fields, for consideration for inclusion in the Ingenium Professional Development Seminars. Competency-Based Assessors - Multiple Positions
EngGeoMB is seeking additional assessors to conduct a final review of an applicant's Competency-Based Assessment (CBA) report by providing their own ratings for each of the competencies and making a recommendation on the applicant's readiness for professional registration. We are seeking professional members in good standing, who have been registered as a professional for at least two years, are working in a supervisory capacity, and are receiving remuneration on a full-time or regular basis (greater than 300 hours per calendar year) in the following areas to join our assessor pool: Civil-Structural, Bridges, Mechanical-Manufacturing, Petroleum, Mechanical HVAC, Electrical, and Geotechnical. Understanding Foundational Teachings to Work Towards Two-Eyed Seeing - Tuesday, June 3, 2025
We will discuss Indigenous Worldviews and ways, touching upon foundational teachings such as the Seven Sacred Teachings and the Medicine Wheel. We strive to give an appreciation to how spirituality is intertwined into every aspect of Indigenous Peoples behaviour and Community function. Get to the Point! A Practical Writing Course for Technical Professionals - Tuesday, June 3, 2025
During this course, participants will recieve personal feedback on three writing assignments. The format provides time to discuss and evaluate longer documents such as recommendations, investigations, formal reports and studies, and proposals.
