To support the skill development, community growth, and professional and personal goal achievement of Engineers Geoscientists Manitoba members from intern to advanced level professionals through knowledge sharing, networking, and uniting of practitioners.
The Mentorship Program is structured and meant to unite practitioners in Engineering and Geoscience professions, and to build trusting relationships that brings both less-experienced and more-experienced members in Engineers Geoscientists Manitoba together, to offer guidance, support, and encouragement aimed at developing the competence and character of each member in the small group that will help achieve the professional and personal goals set by participants.
Each group consists of 3-4 members, with the goal of providing mutual benefits to all the participants. The relationship should be seen as a partnership, where members in each of the small groups openly and freely exchange ideas, discuss challenges, and explore potential solutions.
A yearly program which runs from January to December and includes quarterly mentoring events. Members in the matched groups are responsible to schedule their meeting times and expected to commit a minimum of 1-2 hours per month, with goal set written out. All the participants will fill and submit a mid-year progress report and an evaluation report for feedback at the end of the formal one-year timeframe.
Any engineering or geoscience intern (EIT/GIT), specified scope of practice licensees (Eng.L./Geo.L.), or professional engineer (P.Eng.) or professional geoscientist (P.Geo.) registered in good standing with Engineers Geoscientists Manitoba.
