Do I write the ABC Test?


Students

  • If you have written the ABC Test as a student, and have not let your registration lapse, your result can be counted towards your pre-registration program.
  • If you allowed your student enrollment with the Association to lapse prior to joining the pre-registration program, you must rewrite the test

Academic Assessment Applicants

If you had to go through an academic assessment, your Letter of Invitation will inform you that you are academically qualified and therefore eligible to write the ABC Test. You may begin Step 4: Pre-Registration prior to writing the ABC Test, however, Engineers Geoscientists Manitoba will not process your application for admission to pre-registration until you pass the test.

Association Interns

First-time applicants to the pre-registration program are required to write the ABC Test. You may begin Step 4: Pre-Registration prior to writing the ABC Test. However, Engineers Geoscientists Manitoba will not process your application until you pass the test.

Canadian Mobility

Canadian Mobility applicants are not required to write the ABC Test.

US Mobility

First-time US Mobility applicants are required to write the ABC Test.

Temporary Licence - Mandatory Rewrites

Temporary Licensees must write the ABC Test, then rewrite the test every three years.

Reinstatement

  • If you are reinstating and you did not resign in good standing with the Association, you must write/rewrite the ABC Test
  • If you are reinstating as an Intern and you resigned in good standing with the Association, you must write/rewrite the ABC Test
  • If you are reinstating as Professional Member (including Canadian and US Mobility) and you resigned in good standing with the Association, you are not required to write the ABC Test
